Your trust matters to us. This page explains what personal information we collect, why, and the choices you have.
1. Who is responsible
De Luca Hook Purse, based in Blainville, Quebec, Canada, is responsible for the personal information collected through hookpurse.com. Our person in charge of the protection of personal information can be reached at info@hookpurse.com.
2. What we collect
- Private list: your email address, when you join our list to receive news and your welcome offer.
- Contact form: your name, email address and message.
- Orders: your name, delivery and billing address, email, phone number (if provided) and the items ordered. Your card details are entered on a Stripe page; we never see or store them.
- Site usage: if you accept analytics cookies, anonymous statistics about how the site is used (pages viewed, device type, approximate location), through Google Analytics.
3. Why we use it
- To process and deliver your order, and to send order confirmations and delivery updates.
- To answer your messages.
- To send you news about De Luca and offers, only if you joined our list. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.
- To understand and improve the site, only if you accept analytics cookies.
- To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations, and to prevent fraud.
4. Your consent
We collect and use your information with your consent, or where the law allows or requires it, for example to fulfil your order. You may withdraw your consent at any time by writing to us or using the unsubscribe link. Withdrawing consent does not affect what was done before.
5. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the shop, under their own privacy commitments: Stripe (payments), Brevo (emails), Google (analytics, only with your consent), our hosting provider, and shipping carriers (to deliver your parcel).
6. Where it is kept
We serve customers in North America and Europe. Some of these providers are located or store data outside your country, including in Canada and the United States. Your information may therefore be processed there and be subject to the laws of those places. We choose reputable providers and ask them to protect your information appropriately.
7. How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes above. Order records are kept for the period required for tax and accounting purposes. Our list is kept until you unsubscribe. Contact messages are kept as long as needed to deal with your request.
8. Your rights
You may ask us to access the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to stop using it for marketing, and to receive a copy of it in a structured, commonly used format. Write to info@hookpurse.com; we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may file a complaint with your local data protection authority. For example: the Commission d'acces a l'information du Quebec or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (Canada), your state attorney general or the Federal Trade Commission (United States), or your national data protection authority (European Union and United Kingdom).
Customers in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom: we process your information to fulfil your order (contract), to meet our legal obligations, to send you marketing with your consent, and for our legitimate interest in running and securing the shop. Transfers outside your region rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses. You may also object to processing and withdraw consent at any time.
Customers in California and other US states: you may ask to know, delete or correct the personal information we hold about you, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell your personal information. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
Customers in Canada and Quebec: we comply with the federal and Quebec private sector privacy laws, including Law 25. Our email marketing follows Canada's anti-spam law (CASL) and requires your consent, which you may withdraw at any time.
9. Cookies
On your first visit, a banner lets you accept or decline analytics cookies. You can change your choice at any time with the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page.
10. Security
We use reasonable measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and secure payment processing by Stripe. No method of transmission is perfectly secure, but we take the protection of your information seriously.
11. Children
Our site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 14 without the consent of a parent or guardian.
12. Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top of the page shows the latest version. If a change is significant, we will tell you.
